Fermenter Is Out!
Hey music-lovers,
The day is finally here - the new plugin, Fermenter, is OUT now on all streaming services, I mean um, my website! You can find it here.
I’m proud of this one; it’s a really cool new sound. At its heart is an algorithm unlike any that I know of in another audio effect - in short, it’s a unique way to alter the tone and timbre of a sound. Not a formant shifter, not a pitch shifter, not an EQ, but something new :D.
I’ve been using it a ton in my own music since I started making it! (always a good sign) I’ve found it’s best when I want to take something out of its familiar sonic palette and put it in a different world - to keep it recognizably the same instrument, but make it sound somehow “other.”
I’m planning on doing a longer post soon explaining roughly how it works, for those interested (and as best I can without writing 4,000 words). Until then, happy fermenting!
Cheers,
Caleb
p.s. My brother and I got to film a little demo video last week, playing with Fermenter on all sorts of instruments (which was so fun to make). You can check that out here!
